The morning sickness title aside, the authors (with the help of six recorded mothers) write sensibly enough about matters of motherhood, childbirth and child-rearing, particularly if you have not considered the role which is so ""fully feminine"" or ""more mature."" Much of this is familiar -- never rising above the Parents Magazine level and somewhat arbitrary in areas chosen for amplification (i.e., the colicky baby or masturbation). Most of the book deals with the changes in your home, your relationship with your husband, and of course your role as you try to get the household together and leave room for yourself -- that most underestimated and neglected ""mother person."" A supplementary book which assumes that this ungoldstarred young woman has never had much time to read before or after the event since the contents are just average acceptable.
