MAGGIE'S CHAMPION by Virginia Robinson Kirkus Star

MAGGIE'S CHAMPION

By

Publisher: Lothrop, Lee & Shepard

This sprightly story of two collie pups and their mistress, Maggie, is fresh as the morn and entertaining from cover to cover. Although Maggie is in the no-man's land between pigtails and proms, her elder sister Sue's romantic involvement with two young men weaves an absorbing sub-plot through the major theme of Maggie's relationship to her pets. Each character is completely credible, dialogue is excellent and the technical side of training champion show dogs is most informative. The description of Cindy, the mother collie, bearing pups is gently presented. This exceptionally fine story is Virginia Robinson's first novel.
