MANY HEAVENS

Virginia Sorenson's best novel of Mormon life- even though the solutions she offers may disturb many readers. Against the background of the turn of the century- when the pros and cons of polygamy were being strongly felt though the Mormons were highly moral in other aspects of life- is told the story of two girls who loved inaccessible men and how tradition warred with emotional conflict. If not wholly convincing in conclusions, it is moving, holding reading.
