FLAGS OVER QUEBEC

I think this is the best story she has done, and she gave herself a difficult task in balancing the two sides of a struggle for possession of the disputed lands to the north of the lakes and the St. Lawrence. An English lad, lost overboard General Wolfe's ship, is rescued by a French-Canadian habitant, and taken care of by his family. He recovers, rejoins the British- and then is inadvertently witness of the burning of his rescuers' village. The seige and capture of Quebec, the rehabilitation of French Canada, and the share one youth had in fair play.
