A HAUNTED HOUSE And Other Stories

A collection of 18 stories, six of which appeared in Monday or Tuesday, six in various periodicals, and six unpublished, and for the most part unrevised before her death. Once again evidence is given of an eclectic, highly original and creative talent, a ""delicate, flitting, feminine fancy of extraordinary sensitivity"". Scarcely stories, they represent a moment, a mood, an impression, the pursuit of a thought-----fragmentary subjective experiences drawn from private perceptions or speculations, and bridging the transigent and the timeless, the real and the unreal. These may not stand with the best of her work, but make a complementary contribution for her audience.
