THE PEACOCK IS A GENTLEMAN

Not at all important -- Paris before the war froth and frivol, proving clothes make the man. An Englishman kicks over the traces, walks out on his job, takes on the geth of a gentleman and sets out for Paris. These are his adventures- his encounters- his ability to come through, holding his own with all sorts, and landing himself two jobs which bring him back to England on top of the heap.
