Just a little something for the girls. Lani Malina's mother has the flower concession at the Honolulu airport. Mary Jane Maxwell arrives from stateside, the well traveled daughter of government assigned parents. Both are lonely, both are at the age when a special friend is the necessary ingredient for happy adventure. Lani introduced Mary Jane to island customs and play--on the beach, the natural slides, the glass bottomed boats. They become fast friends and promise to write often when Mary Jane must leave. Pleasant pictures of two ordinary little girls total up to a pleasant book that makes easy reading for the girls at the bottom of this age group, by the author of the somewhat better Sad Day, Glad Day.
