THE LORD'S PRAYER: An Exposition for Today

The Dean of St. Paul's Cathedral, London, wrote these sixteen meditations on the Lord's Prayer for readers of The Daily Telegraph, and the newspaper's readers received them so well that Morehouse-Barlow rescued the series from this evanescent appearance. Anyone who makes careful use of these meditations will quickly take the patter from his use of the paternoster. Dean Matthews helps us to be conscious that this is a corporate prayer of the whole Body of Christ, and that, while it is rooted in the existential situation, it is also pointed toward the eternal fulfillment. People whose prayer life needs strengthening can well begin with this book. It should be on many gift lists, too, for it will be good to receive it.
