One sees the funny little town grow, the small houses round the three-cornered square shoot up, the pastures on the Rhine turned into factory grounds. Along with the growth of the city, the man changes too, becoming harder, quicker, more energetic and impatient. Written with feeling and color, it makes pleasant reading.
