DER DREIECKIGE MARKPLATZ (The Three-cornered Square)

This is not only a novel, but the romance and the story of the city of Bonn. The author gives a beautifully drawn picture of his native town since the War of 1870. One sees the funny little town grow, the small houses round the three-cornered square shoot up, the pastures on the Rhine turned into factory grounds. Along with the growth of the city, the man changes too, becoming harder, quicker, more energetic and impatient. Written with feeling and color, it makes pleasant reading.
