KIRKUS REVIEW

Another book in a popular series, and I think a better book than most of its predecessors. There is -- at last -- a more professional style to the writing. Story of a German shepherd dog that loses his master in the very time of his puppyhood when he is started on his relation with man; of a wrong start and an escape to live with dogs that have gone back to nature; of his capture by a state trooper and the slow process of reeducation until he finds a man he can call master and serve devotedly on the Coast Patrol. Credible adventure and good dog story.
