KIRKUS REVIEW

Good popular approach and stimulating presentation of concise history of the sciences. Possibilities of the future are discussed and the result is absorbing for the layman. The Wellsian touch, along with factual findings, stir the imagination. Astronomy, physics, medicine, aeronautics, chemistry, evolution, the solar system, laboratory life, men of science -- all in simplified but not primer style. There's enough to flatter the ego and arouse the brain activities.
