THE WORLD OF CRYOGENICS

A well-written and accurate book on the physics of low temperatures which should be compared to the Science Study Series Near Zero by D. K. C. MacDonald; although the styles of the two authors differ, their objectives and audience seem to be the same. This considers some of the properties of substances at extremely low temperatures and describes some of their unusual behavior under such conditions. It attempts to present theoretical analyses of these properties and as a result limits the range of readers who will find the reading ""enjoyable."" In any case, the library that does not have the MacDonald book will find it entirely adequate.
