KIRKUS REVIEW

Quasi-masonic stuff -- English background -- Scotland Yard machinations in a story opening with a prison riot and revolving around the activities of a powerful league, finally exposed through an inspector who served a sentence to be eligible for membership. Whirlwind windup. Not exceptional but above average.
