KIRKUS REVIEW

How aging Sir Toby, famous for ridding peaceful villages of every sort of grisly creature, makes his fortune and outwits his beastly enemies in one last ride. Sir Toby assembles a bear, a griffon, a dragon, a tiger, and an ogre for an unspecified expedition through the forest and, with pretended innocence, foils all their attempts to do him in--ending up home with five prime show-offs for his new performing zoo. Despite the tame resolution, a brisk, untaxing jaunt--with broadly cartooned balloon commentary for wayside diversion.
