PASTORAL and DANCE OF THE HOURS

This is the youngest of the three sets of Disney Fantasia in book form. Only two of the parts are used; the story of the party Bacchus gave on Mt. Olympus is told as the ""play"" for Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony. The animal ballet is built on the ballet from La Gioconda. Frankly, I don't like them -- the grotesque overbalances the poetry and imagination -- and the pictures are Disney at his least inviting. But if you must have something for beginning readers, here they are.
