Wonderful value, those Giant Golden Books -- and probably sold out long before publication. But for your information in selling them to your customers -- here's the dope. 11 stories scheduled by the Disney studios for release after the war are collected into this book, and illustrated with Disneyish pictures, lavish with color and beautifully reproduced. Fairy tales for the tiny tots -- classics of childhood for the next older -- are retold without as much departure from their sources as Mr. Disney sometimes indulges in. there's not the whole of Alice or Peter Pan or Wind in the Willows, but there's enough to lead the average child to the original. The others in the collection are adaptations of stories that can be compressed -- or expanded --as meets his need, -- Chicken Little, Peter and the Wolf, Little Fir Tree and others. Good merchandise. Paper & board binding, but well seasoned and made to stand reasonably hard usage.
