ERNESTINE TAKES OVER

A thoroughly entertaining story, this, for the market that liked Thorne Smith's earlier books and felt his later ones were a bit too bawdy, for those who liked The Cautious Amorist, and others of that kind. This should appeal more to women than the above mentioned books. Story of a misunderstood husband, bored with the round of suburban parties, who creates out of his imagination, a companion who shall be all he wishes his wife would be. He makes her so real that she actually comes into being -- but occasionally -- and increasingly -- his imagination plays tricks with him and she breaks in where angels fear to tred. Good fun -- and not smutty.
