STRANGE CRAFT

The author/illustrator, in attempting to relate yesterday's marine design with today's, has given himself room enough to hit only the historical high-spots. However, these are covered very well and the clean lines of his drawings and silhouettes clarify and expand a careful text. The chief value of the book is in the amount of information it brings together about the research and experiment going on marine design; transportation, cargo, factory ships, and submarine weapons that are under development and on the drawing boards are explained and illustrated knowledgeably in a comfortable vocabulary for this age group.
