KIRKUS REVIEW

Mr. Buehr writes on a multiplicity of subjects with an understanding of the essentials of each. In a field already well-covered (four variously useful books in print), this earns attention for its careful explanation of the chemical foundations and industrial ramifications of plastics, all in the familiar open format and large type of the basic industries series. This presentation will have the particular value, in relation to the competition, of amassing the usual material--historical background, organization of industry, variety of products--handling it intelligently, and still appearing simple. The clearly labeled diagrams help.
