KIRKUS REVIEW

Despite the somewhat evocative tone of the title, this is a routine rehearsal of the history of electrically controlled communication. The development of the telegraph, cable, telephone, trains, boats, planes, movies, radio, and space communication is given a summary review. Condensed, factual, illustrated by author, this text competently treats its subject, but does little to generate further interest.
