This is a factual outline of the voyages of the Polos,-Nicolo, Maffeo and Marco, with chapters on the thirteenth century worlds of Venice and Asia. When his uncle and father first returned from the country of the Tartars, Bolgara and Kanbalu, they agreed to allow 17-year-old Marco to accompany them on their next expedition. And so it was that Marco Polo journeyed to Afghanistan and Cathay and lived in the glorious kingdom of Kubla Khan. His life in that household, his mission for the great king, his successful homeward voyage through the Cina and Arabian seas were recounted to an incredulous Venetian populace. Only the discoveries of subsequent centuries bore out the incredible tales of Marco Polo. A simple unremarkable presentation of a remarkable tale.
