PALESTINE: Land of Promise

Don't be discouraged with the dollish start of this, which at first glance seems to be a rather prosy geologist's survey of the potentials of Palestine, Trans-Jordan and contiguous country. As he goes into the extraordinary achievements of the Palestinian Jews (reenforcing Forgotten Ally, by Von Paen), he links what has been done with a plan for the future, which he calls the Jordan Valley Authority, along the lines of our own T.V.A., a project which would -- he feels -- go far towards bringing the Near ast into line. He terms Palestine ""the leaven for the Near East""; he presents detailed findings on what the pioneers have done, economically, agriculturally, industrially, socially, J.V.A. would extend benefits to all the area.
