He interprets Benedict as answering the cry of the world for peace, stability and brotherhood; Francis as setting himself against the materialism of his day and ours; Dominic as replying to the needs of the mind as well as the spirit, and Ignatius meeting the needs of our mobile population. The author is the co-editor of the monthly Frankfurter Hefte, a widely read periodical in the new Germany.
