As more and more people make prayer a part of their discipline of living, they seek good guidance in this act of daily discipline. For them Dr. Cavert has written a book which reflects his experience of 18 years with the Board of Christian Education of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. and the McCormick Theological Seminary. Dr. Cavert first calls atention to the crisis of our times, then to the necessity for the kind of faith that is equal to the crisis, and then to the tremendous resources that are available to the Christian in the Word of God, in the great proclamations of the Faith and in the Holy Fellowship. Finally he devotes a large segment of his work to the relation between these basic beliefs and insights, and the ordinary problems of day to day living. His ability to understand the curious but often repeated problems of the ordinary man make his work unusually helpful.
