THE SHADOW: Jade Dragon & House of Ghosts by Walter Gibson

THE SHADOW: Jade Dragon & House of Ghosts

Two more episodes from the later career of The Shadow (in real life Lamont Cranston)--as told by Walter Gibson a.k.a. Maxwell Grant. Jade Dragon (1948), set in Frisco's Chinatown, is vintage Shadow--about a mystic statue which arrives in the US via the black market and is being sought by mandarin gang-leader Chung Sung (though the real criminal is an American dabbler in antiquities). House of Ghosts (1943) features Gibson's old friend, mentalist Joseph Dunninger, who helps The Shadow to debunk ghosts when a feuding family (prone to trances and fearful of premature burial) gets caught up in some Gaslight-ing. Okay fun for diehard nostalgia buffs.
