VERMONT VALLEY

Again as in A Mountain Township there are a hundred pieces about Vermont villagers, in what the publishers call ""irregular free verse."" It is really anecdotage in prose rather than poetry, preserving the idiox of the Vermont people, rugged, parsimonious, narrow but likeable characters. Each little story ends with a wry, witty drollery,in the vernacular. Good folk material, but not poetry.
