FIRST AID TO PICTORIAL COMPOSITION

This is addressed to students and is intended to fill the gap in texts on the three main factors of creative art, --drawing, painting and composition. His method is a workable one, based on precept and example. It is definitely a how-to-do book, and in addition is a survey of what has been done historically. He takes up the main points of harmony, balance, distribution, use of horizontal and vertical and converging lines, architectural values, etc. Very specialized.
