Slightly more purple than even Mr. Deeping's usual path. A story in contrasts of ways of life, on the one side an ultra-modern and somewhat lecherous author has created a resort for those of his ilk, demonstrating his theories of freedom; on the other side, a millionaire establishes a farming project on a big scale, expounding the simple way of life. There are crossed wires as romance intervenes, but the simple pattern wins out in the end. Done in the best Deeping manner, with philosophical overtones, etc. The Deeping name pulls rentals and some sales --but this has some elements that will alienate his more conventional readers, without winning sophisticates.
