KIRKUS REVIEW

The inveterate collector's choice for a vacation should also prove to be a very happy household familiar to have around all the year as this anthology reflects a good deal of taste as well as pleasurable entertainment. As much for him, as well as for her, there is more fiction than non-fiction; an occasional entry which has not been reprinted before; and among the contributors are Updike, Dinesen, Huxley, Durrell, Dylan Thomas, Shaw, Capote and Cather, Katherine Anne Porter and Malcolm Lowry, and for a isson-Roald Dahl, du Maurier's The Birds, Stanley Ellin's The Specialty of the House.
