KIRKUS REVIEW

Obviously this is a book for Protestant preachers in their formative years. Not every man who is called into the ministry is by that fact made a preacher. The President of McKendree College is trying to meet the need of every man who faces a congregation next Sunday. The average book about preaching is concerned with how to develop a sermon idea. This book is unique in concentrating on how those ideas come to be in the first place. Mr. Garrison has some very stimulating concepts, and these in turn may well serve to galvanize the reader's mind into creative paths which may lead to fruitfulness in the gospel task of preaching the Word.
