HOW TO MAKE IT IN HOLLYWOOD

Among the fourteen interviews recorded here are Q & A sessions with actors Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and Telly Savalas; actress Susan Anspach; producer Albert S. Ruddy (The Godfather); TV executive producer Aaron Spelling; directors Daniel Mann and Michael Campus; and assorted casting directors and talent agents. The imponderable query put to them--""How does one get that 'lucky break'? What is the secret? Is it talent, beauty, sex appeal, luck, timing, or just what?""--elicits responses such as: ""You've got to develop your talent and your life, and when the moment comes, you'll be there to deliver"". . . ""the ingredients put together are sex, nice, and cool--the three super ingredients that make up a successful actor."" If you'll agree that ""making it"" involves a combination of ability, ambition and self-confidence, then you're already ahead of the game. Hollywooden aspirants will find this about as edifying as a fortune cookie.
