YOUR MOST ENCHANTED LISTENER

By

Publisher: Harper

A probing of the realities behind the will-o-the-wisp speech, reveals a good many thought-provoking facts and fantasies. Dr. Johnson turns his thoughts to the speech with which men express their thoughts, or think they do -- and shows how the thought itself is governed by the symbol, by projection. He points up his findings with such passing shots as the fact that a four-year old asks four hundred questions a day and that the world a child lives in depends on those questions and their answers. Also, the notion that someone is lovely is really an expression of our feeling reflected back (lovers' blindness). Dr. Johnson considers the nature of logic, symbolisms, psitticisms, projection and stands for a scientific approach to our vagrant thought-molder. He awaits the coming of ""the wanted wise man"" who will weld clear thinking and good will. And by the way, it's as important to listen to yourself as to talk to yourself...you are your own most enchanted listener and may need disenchanting!
