JUNEAU: The Sleigh Dog

A routine story of the Alaskan wilds; I felt as if I had read it several times, but still found it a good yarn. A city boy persuades his father to leave him with his great dog and Indian guide, while the father goes to a distant mine. But the friend who was to join him is not available, the guide deserts and turns enemy, his by the mystery of the contents of a locked box, and the boy and dog face the challenge of the wilds alone and conquer. Not much distinction in writing, but well paced and good entertainment of its kind.
