This bumptious lot of drollery gives the dominating domestic creatures their due, and from such prose and well versed versifiers as Robert Benchley, Sherwood Anderson, Louis Bromfield, Don Marquis, Ogden Nash and T. S. Eliot. Approaches range from the charming and improbable to the awesome. Generally, the beasts best their masters who doggishly don't seem to mind at all. Almost 100 cartoons, from many European countries as well as the U. S. A., give international savor to the big bone. Joyous .
