OUR ENEMY JAPAN by Wilfred Fleisher

Email this review

Cumulative appraisal of events leading to present crisis, underlining much that was in his previous book (Volcanic Isle) and making a good background book for estimating the forces with which we are at war. Serves as good propaganda as to importance of victory. Amplification of the picture of headline figures, Japanese and Sino-Japanese wars, the rigidity of Japanese censorship, Japan's long term relations with Germany and German propaganda and advisory aid, the position (so far as is known) of army and navy strength and future possible development, existing economic conditions -- and the texts of American, Japanese and Presidential messages. Cuts a bit deeper than Volcanic Isle.
