Bronc Burnett, popular baseball hero among sports fans, plays the champions of Canada in this latest addition to his exploits. His adversary is the skilled hitter, Pierre McTigue. Despite Pierre's ingenuity in winning over Bronc's buddy Fat Crompton, Bronc cannot ultimately be fooled by ""the big bluffer"". He recognizes Pierre's admission of his antipathy for curve balls as a ruse and acts accordingly. Skillful pitching triumphs and Bronc and his team are victorious. The snappy lingo of the sportswriter and the authentic feel of dugout and diamond will as usual satisfy an established audience.
