A drama played out in the surgical amphitheatre, and you can just about pick up a degree on route, and in more personal quarters, this tells of Jean L'Homme, a Kildare who finds his ideals brushing up against the financial interests, expediency and just plain negligence of his superiors. In love with Phyllis Quinn, daughter of the Chief of Staff, Jean marries a young nurse when by so doing he can save her life. Meeting Phyllis some months later, they have a night of love during the course of which he discovers that she has a lignant carcinoma. Phyllis dies, Jean is railroaded out of the hospital and his license, and only some time later is he reinstated.... The scrubbing up these surgeons do does not apply to the language or the closeups.
