KIRKUS REVIEW

A cache of gold buried in a lost mine lures Mackenna and a wolfpack of outlaw Mexicans with whom he falls in and out. The story winds through hostile Apache territory and Mackenna's treasure -- a girl to love -- turns out to be more valuable than the gold. This is substantial storytelling in a well worked frame.
