KIRKUS REVIEW

As a story it isn't much, but as the history of the roedo, from the first cowboy contest to its present high place in popular esteem, it is full of interesting facts and stories. It is -- as are all Will James' books -- most authentic in feel and stresses the sport of the shows, which in spite of the commercialization, remain the fairest and squarest of entertainments. A rather thin story is built around a fictitious cowboy, who eventually became Champion All Around Cowboy.
