Particularly valuable as a guide to rocky coasts, where little pools of water at low tide offer material for examination. Special note made of things found on various coast lines, east and west. Not as elaborate a book as the Burgess book. Star fish, jelly fish, sea urchins, squids, etc. There is a tendency to personify occasionally, to sugar coat the material quite unnecessarily. But the substance is there.
