KIRKUS REVIEW

A simple story for animal lovers, particularly racehorse addicts, told in the cowboy vernacular. Colonel, a thoroughbred colt, with markings wrong for the dignity of his breed, is sold to a cowboy, who in turn presents him to his boss' daughter. Colonel, far from bluegrass country, follows his wildhorse playmate, Charro, out to the badlands where he learns to fend for himself and is conditioned to greater stamina. At the close he becomes a topnotch racer and his reunited to Charro. You know your market. Plus sale for boys and girls.
