Two centuries from now and interplanetary travel, communication and devious doings among the heavenly bodies. For contraterrene (CT -- or seetee) drift is under investigation as a source of free power but there are threats to the research which are the concern of young spatial engineer, Nick Jenkins. He gets seetee shock in saving the workers on Freedonia, and in spite of this death sentence, continues his work to prevent the mishandling of the research and is the means of preventing universal wreckage. It almost takes superscience to understand the technical points of this one, which like most fiction is tried and true in formula if embellished with fancier embroidery.
