KIRKUS REVIEW

By the foremost designer of small yachts in this country (Atkins has designed more than 600) this tells of his outstanding ships and gives the full details of their construction. There's only a little that is personal, but there's all the fervent affection that goes with the sea and ships, and which began- for Atkin- in his childhood when he built his first boat. And for the serious yachtsman, there's a wealth of detail about the design and building of each boat, the specifics of tanks, below deck equipment, decks, sails, cabins, masts, etc.
