The Anderson family again, this time on wheels -- through Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany and France. Even those not attuned to the author's old frat man humor will probably be won over to his squarely middle-aged verve, his penchant for small but colorful disasters (the hysterical pursuit of a bicycle thief, for example) and his rueful recital of the dolors of traveling with growing children. The scenery ranges from gorgeous to downright frightening, the food is generally bracing, and the natives mainly amiable. For those who might attempt the same -- benefiting from the Andersons' trials and copious errors -- this will offer clues on how to manage one's bike and one's self. Cheery.
