Brock (The Rock) Callahan shows a softer streak when he salvages a boy running away- to find his father, and Brock takes him home to an alcoholic mother, her lover, and the lies about his father. Brock later finds that the father is ""wanted""- for murder, or possibly drug running, but although he must several killers, he brings in his man. Maybe not the best of breed, but the survival of the fittest.
