The title to the contrary, this is more developed than Doris Bryant's Pet Cats (McKay-Washburn, p. 48) and along with the necessary guidance on care, feeding and handling, there is a good deal of fascinating material on the ancestry of this member of the animal royal family and the various breeds. Getting a cat and how to determine its choice; the cat's anatomy and intelligence; particulars of nutrition, grooming, health and first aid, breeding and ""kittening"", and finally the harder-to-handle exotic cats- the ocelot and margay, make up an excellent book, with a good many fine points and unusual facts not to be found elsewhere.
