POLAND STRUGGLES FORWARD

One man's picture- after a visit there- of a free, happy, industrious Poland working bravely at her gigantic task of recovery, this is a frank propaganda broadside designed to recall much needed Poles back to their country to help. In fact a definite appeal to them is worded. There is a slippery sketch of how the new government, which is frankly Marxist but free from Soviet domination, was formed. However Poland is proud of her friendship with her powerful neighbor, Russia, and all information antagonistic to the regime is referred to as rumor and cafe talk. UNRRA is extolled; the Marshall Plan is, as well as Germany, one of the forces against which all Poles should work. A precise picture of her nationalized industry, the co-operatives, social reforms, the one big happy union for all workers, amplifies the argument. The appeal is limited- to Poles in America, Communists, dissatisfied citizens- and the F.B.I.
