THE CRIMSON QUIRT

Peter Piper, a cattleman's detective, in unfamiliar range lands, discovers a murder and a clue, a red quirt, which leads him to a lawless group, out to steel a nearby ranch. After extensive sleuthing and abundant gunsmoke, Piper wipes out the crooks, almost singlehanded, finds a ranch for himself where he can settle down with the daughter of the rancher he saved. Competent.
