The Old West will live forever,"" says the youngest of the three Eastland children just before they get involved in fighting off some dangerous marauders. The Old West is strictly contemporary, however. Squaw Peak is a resort town working hard to be the ""The Westest Town in the West""; most of the local color is provided by a cast of thousands working on the latest Hollywood spectacular, and the real bad men in this story are rustling art objects instead of cattle. The children use sophisticated slapstick methods to best the thieves, keeping up a steady flow of gags all the while. By the author of Project: Genius, and Johnny and the Tool Chest, this story is a lot of good clean fun with an echo of canned laughter in the background.
