KIRKUS REVIEW

Part-reminiscences, part guide, this book about England in which the author writes of places visited and appreciated on a trip five years ago. A personally conducted tour, with emphasis largely on cathedrals and castles brightened with bits of legend, history, old sayings, etc. Fair only -- lacks zest of American travel books (Annapolis, Charleston, etc.)
